特征特性：1自养型。肉汁琼脂平板：菌落白色，有时带黄白色，全缘到波浪形，湿润，均质，长出现非典型形状。不液化明胶，蛋白胨铁琼脂中不产生硫化氢，吲哚试验阳性，V.P试验阴性。
参考用途：抗生素敏感试验质控菌株，《GB 4789.28 培养基和试剂的质量要求》标准菌株。

培养基：0002 营养肉汤琼脂（Nutrient Agar）
蛋白胨 5.0 g 牛肉浸粉 3.0 g NaCl 5.0 g 琼脂 15.0 g 蒸馏水 1000.0 mL pH 7.0
培养芽胞杆菌时加入5 mg MnSO4·H2O，则有利于产生芽胞。以上成分121℃，灭菌15 min。液体培养基不添加琼脂。推荐使用成品培养基。培养温度：37 ℃
